Pullquote: “I am proud to be a plaintiff-side personal injury lawyer. I aim to thoroughly prepare and advance my cases so that our clients can stand-up to large and resourceful insurance companies and corporations. Every injured person has a right to seek justice and I enjoy helping accident victims recover fair compensation so that they can move forward with their lives.”

Zachary Goncalves was born and raised in Toronto, Ontario. Following his undergraduate studies at York University, he entered the work force for a short while, before enrolling in law school at the University of Windsor. Zachary graduated from Windsor Law in June 2016 and was called to the Ontario Bar on June 26, 2017.

As a law student, Zachary developed a particular interest in the practice of civil litigation. He was an active member of Windsor Law’s Community Legal Aid clinic, where he worked as a Caseworker and Group Leader, providing various legal services to disadvantaged individuals in the Windsor-Essex area. Notably, Zachary obtained a winning decision at the landlord-tenant board for a client whose pet dog sustained injury as a direct result of his landlord’s negligence. The tribunal awarded the tenant dog owner compensation, and the decision can be found at SWT-78344-15 (Re), 2015 CanLii 85072 (ON LTB).

Following law school, Zachary articled and practiced for close to five years at a large Toronto-based personal injury law firm. During that time, Zachary successfully negotiated and recovered fair compensation for numerous accident victims. He also demonstrated a willingness to advocate in the Courtroom, and appeared on several contested motions, including obtaining a $1500 costs award on a motion that has since been published, Blake v. Drandic, 2017 ONSC 5030 (CanLii).

Zachary joined Auger Hollingsworth’s Toronto Office in March of 2021 and remains committed to helping accident victims across Ontario. Outside of work, Zachary enjoys sports (particularly soccer), travel, reading, and spending quality time with family and friends. Zachary can speak Portuguese, and is available to assist Portuguese-speaking clients with their accident claims.
Zachary is a member of the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association and remains a member in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.
