Meet Ottawa Lawyer Bianca Bielecki:

Birthplace: Calgary

Law School: University of Ottawa

Hobbies/Interests: Golf, yoga, cycling, travel, photography

Pullquote: “Supporting and guiding clients through the process, in order to reach a positive outcome that makes an impact on their quality of life, and reduces their stress and worry about the future, is very rewarding. You’re making a positive difference in their lives.”

Bianca Bielecki has always loved two things: learning as much as possible and giving back to her community. That’s why, ever since her call to the bar in 2014, she’s been a noteworthy member of the Ottawa Advocacy Club.

The club, a Law Society of Upper Canada accredited organization that trains articling students and new lawyers on the finer points of civil advocacy, helped hone and develop her litigation skills as a young lawyer. Nearly five years later, she’s now an organizer helping run Advocacy Club programs for new lawyers looking for professional development.

Bianca, a Calgary native, completed a bachelor’s degree in social sciences (criminology and psychology) at the University of Ottawa. She finished law school in 2013 and was called to the bar in 2014 after completing articling. She began life as a practicing lawyer for Auger Hollingsworth a few months later. After nearly five years with the firm, Bianca says it’s both the teamwork and collegiality of Auger Hollingsworth and her ability to support vulnerable clients that keeps her motivated.

Outside of work, Bianca can typically be found enjoying family time at one of Ottawa’s many golf courses or bicycle paths. She loves to work out at the gym, do yoga, and get outdoors to enjoy nature and photography. She’s also got a bit of the travel bug: Bianca is a big fan of experiencing new cultures and exploring new destinations where she can partake in adventure activities. Recently, Bianca has taken her love of the ocean to new depths by taking up scuba diving.
